Friederike Pezold
Friederike Pezold (*1945 in Vienna, lives in Vienna) created her first video graphics in 1971, combining graphic and painterly elements with the new possibilities of the medium of video. Across multiple series of photographs and videos, she made her own body the subject of her works. Painted in black and white, in these works, Pezold is simultaneously subject and object, painter and model. Here, the artist is interested in a fragmented representation of the female body, with the monitor serving as a formative element.
