She stands out as a pioneer of Environmental Art and one of the few acknowledged female figures in Land Art. Denes is well-known for her landscape installations, which serve as thought-provoking commentaries on cultural, social, and ecological issues, questioning Western notions of growth and development. The work The Butterfly Experiment – Hope (2023), which Denes developed especially for the n.b.k. Editions collection, is part of a series of computer-generated artworks.
