Tony Oursler
As a pioneer of video art in New York in the early 1970s, Tony Oursler (*1957 in New York, lives in New York) specializes in hallucinatory dramaturgy and radical formal experiments with animation, montage, and live action. Starting with low-tech performative experiments, Oursler has developed an ever-evolving multimedia and audiovisual practice, gaining particular notoriety for his evocative video sculptures. In the 1980s and 1990s, he worked closely with the performance artist and writer Constanze DeJong (* 1950 in Cleveland / USA, lives in New York).
