Robert Wilson
Robert Wilson (*1941 in Waco / Texas, lives in New York) works in a wide range of artistic disciplines, gaining particular renown for his practice as a director, stage designer, choreographer, light, and video artist. Since the late 1960s, his productions have had a decisive influence on the contemporary aesthetics of theater and opera. His graphic works are often closely related to his stage practice: they are both sketches and records of the creative process during rehearsals, and oscillate between specific representations and total abstraction.
