KP Brehmer
Along with Konrad Lueg, Sigmar Polke, and Gerhard Richter, KP Brehmer (*1938 in Berlin, †1997 in Hamburg) was one of the most important representatives of Capitalist Realism. His works – consisting of drawings, collages, prints, paintings, and films – examined the culture of post-war Germany from a critical perspective. Influenced by the social upheavals of 1968 and in dialogue with Pop Art, Brehmer attempted to visualize political tendencies of the art industry and subversively infiltrate its commercial structures.
