In his work, Klaus vom Bruch (*1952 in Cologne, lives in Berlin) examines technologies and power in the context of political and historical events. Together with Ulrike Rosenbach (*1943 in Bad Salzdethfurt / Germany, lives in Saarbrücken) and Marcel Odenbach (*1953 in Cologne, lives in Cologne and Berlin), he established the independent artist group Alternative Television (ATV), the first pirate station in Cologne to offer an alternative to television. Through hard cuts, vom Bruch’s work contrasts and combines self-portraits, documentary, and advertising elements into a heterogeneous video montage.
