The painter and sculptor Imi Knoebel (*1940 in Dessau / Germany, lives in Düsseldorf / Germany) is one of the most important representatives of German Minimal Art. He attended the Werkkunstschule in Darmstadt / Germany, and in 1964 moved to the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf / Germany, where he studied in the class of Joseph Beuys. His works are part of a large number of international collections and he has received numerous awards for his work.
