Heike Baranowsky
Heike Baranowsky (*1966 in Augsburg / Germany, lives in Berlin) addresses the conditions of image production and the cinema in her practice, which encompasses film, photography, and video. Although many of Baranowsky’s works appear to be documentary at first glance, this impression is evoked through technical manipulations. Framing, speed, zoom, looping, repetition, mirroring, and tiny temporal displacements of subjects become the structure of the work. Since 2015, Baranowsky has been a professor of Fine Arts at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nuremberg.
