Hartmut Jahn (*1955 in Hanover / Germany, lives in Berlin) works as an artist as well as a film and television director, writer, and producer. Adopting an approach that reflects on media, his work deals, among other things, with aspects of German history and social issues. Since the 1970s, he has produced a large number of documentary, essayistic, and experimental films and videos, in addition to installations and multimedia works.
