Hanno Baethe

Hanno Baethe (*1947 in Anholt / Germany, lives in Berlin) employs a variety of stylistic devices and techniques in his narrative videos, which he combines with precision. In many of his works, Baethe focuses on people in exceptional situations, using the intimacy of the video camera to develop a synthesis of documentation, fiction, and experimentation. He is a professor of Video Design at the Hochschule Hannover and has been working with interactive transmedia installations and interactive, non-linear film since 1993. As part of a research project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Baethe also develops videos for an interactive learning platform.
