Dan Graham
Dan Graham (*1942 in Urbana / Illinois, †2022 in New York) was a sculptor, Conceptual artist, and video artist whose work engaged with the historical, social, and ideological functions of social practice. In this context, he reflected, for example, on the role of pop culture and challenged the autonomy of artistic production. In addition, his work explored architecture and its structure as fundamental to the development of social and public spaces. Graham is best known for his pavilion structures of steel and reflective glass, in which visitors directly enter into relationship and confrontation with themselves, their spatial context, and others.
