Harun Farocki. Eine indexikalische Spur. Nachträge und Register. Schriften. Band 7

Part of the edition Harun Farocki. Schriften. (edited by Marius Babias, Antje Ehmann, Tom Holert, Doreen Mende, Volker Pantenburg)

“An Indexical Trace” supplements the edition of Harun Farocki’s writings with a sophisticated index and a bibliography of the abundant text production of the filmmaker, artist, author, and film teacher. Inspired by Farocki's fascination with dictionaries and image collections and their principles of classification and access, the index, created by Gerti Fietzek, provides an indispensable tool for working with Farocki’s oeuvre. In addition, the volume makes accessible 30 texts by Farocki that were not included in the previous volumes – short texts and seminar announcements as well as several film reviews from 1980 and 1981. The book concludes with an afterword by the editor Volker Pantenburg.

Harun Farocki (1944–2014) is one of the most renowned German filmmakers. His oeuvre comprises about 100 agitational, documentary, essay, and fiction films of different scope. Moreover, Farocki was an internationally acclaimed video and installation artist, a gifted educator and a prolific writer.

The publication can be purchased at local bookshops, via the website of Buchhandlung Walther und Franz König, and at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein. Members of Neuer Berliner Kunstverein can buy the book at n.b.k. for the special price of 15.00 Euro.
